# Step 3 - Weight and Height

**Step 3 involves measuring the child's weight and height.** Use the centile quick reference tables in the screening tool to determine the centile difference between weight versus height.

The example below is based on a 5 year old girl who weighs 14.5kg and is 113cm tall.

The child's weight is in the 2nd centile and her height is in the 75th centile which is more than a 3 centile difference and therefore, a score of 3 is assigned for this step.
